Church Family,
We have just completed a wonderful weekend with the men in our church. I am thankful for the 75 men who made an investment this weekend in their relationships with God, their family, and the church. I am also thankful for the response of all the men in our church on Sunday who stood like Moses and said “we need God’s help.” Exodus 17:12 says “But Moses hands grew weary, so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it, while Aaron and Hur held up his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side. So his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.” We all need people like Aaron and Hur to hold up our hands in prayer and encouragement. If you missed the message on Sunday, it is available on our website at bbcyorktown.org/media
This coming Sunday, the finance committee will be sharing with the church our 2017 church budget. I want to remind you that church budgets are really ministry spend plans. The tithes and offerings that you give on a weekly basis make it possible for us to continue the ministries that we have at Bethel. These ministries include missions, Bible Fellowship, preschool, children, student, college, men, women, and senior adult ministries. Your faithful contributions make it possible for us to fulfill our vision of “Glorifying God by making disciples of our neighbors and the nations.”
This year the finance committee is taking a step of faith in proposing an increase in our 2017 ministry spend plan. This increase will help us fund some new growth initiatives as well as a contingency fund for future capital improvements. I know that God is able to help us to reach this goal as we are faithful to give and to reach new people with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Please join me in praying that 2017 will be a new season of growth and ministry expansion.
I hope that you will join me this Sunday as we will be studying together Acts 21:1-16: “The Easy or the Hard Path”
For His Glory,
