Our desire is to glorify our God and help strengthen your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ by vibrant, relational worship here at Bethel Baptist Church in Yorktown, VA.

No matter what your talent may be, we have a place for you to serve. We also want to serve one another in the process.  We believe that worship is a seven day affair, and that in our worship settings, we bring our personal worship together with brothers and sisters in Christ to form corporate worship.

Worship is experiential, and it does incorporate emotions as well as the entire person, but it must be based in God's perfect Word.  Come join us in what God is doing, get involved...
we've got something for you!

There is something powerful about the sound
of human voices in worship of our God.
The goal of the Sanctuary choir is to use a
diverse group of people from
diverse backgrounds to come together with
a unified sound for the glory of God.
The choir is a group that leads worship both
through congregational song
and special presentations at both
Sunday morning services.

This group is open to all interested and seeking
to use their voice to praise God in song.
Practices are in the Sanctuary from
7:30-9:00pm Wednesday night
and from 8:30-8:50am Sunday morning.

For more information, contact Phil Gifford at pgifford@bbcyorktown.org

The Sanctuary Orchestra leads worship from an instrumental
perspective in the two Sunday morning services.
This group includes brass, woodwinds, strings, and rhythm instruments.
In addition to accompanying the congregational worship and choir specials, the orchestra also prepares special pieces of
music to enhance the worship of God.

If God has gifted you in these talents, come use those gifts.
The Sanctuary Orchestra is open to all those in high school
and up who have a proficiency in their instruments.
Practices are Sundays from 4:15-5:15pm,
Wednesdays from 7:30-8:00pm,
and Sunday mornings from 8:30-8:50am.
If you are interested in this ministry, come by and listen.

For more information, contact Phil Gifford at pgifford@bbcyorktown.org

Praise Teams
Bethel uses a Praise Team of vocalists to lead worship as well as prepare occasional specials
for the services.  This team consists of a small group of sopranos, altos, tenors,
and basses that blend well together and have a passion for leading worship.
This group is by interview only and requires an ability to read or hear respective vocal parts.
Opportunities for groups like this often come up, so ask about an interview process!

Vocal Ensembles
There are both separate vocal ensembles for just ladies and men
that have a variety of ministry opportunities both in the church and outside of the church.

Bell Ensemble
The Bell choir is a four octave ringing team that practices Sunday nights at 7pm.
If you are interesting in this ministry contact us for more information.

Special Music
Those gifted with an ability to use music both instrumentally and vocally
have several opportunities to use those gifts to encourage the congregation at Bethel.
Contact the Phil Gifford to have an interview to be on this schedule.

Praise In Motion
Praise In Motion is a dance ministry that uses women 9th grade and up
to perform interpretive movement in an appropriate and God-honoring way.
This group usually performs in special productions of the church.

Easter Praise
EasterPraise is a production of Bethel that includes a variety of ministries
such as the choir, orchestra, drama, construction, media, and dance.
This is an event that looks dramatically at the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
It is meant to reach out into the community and to the church body.

As we get closer to EasterPraise 2009
we will have more information and resources available.

The technical ministry at Bethel consists of a group of people that are seeking to use
God-given gifts in the technical area to enhance all areas of the church’s worship.
This involved a wide variety of areas including audio mixing, video recording,
projected media, lighting, and many other areas.

If you have been given a gift in these areas and would like to serve
Christ in this area, please contact us so we can get you plugged in.
