Pastor Thurman has served as Bethel ’s Senior Pastor since 2000. He and his wife, Melissa, have three children: Caleb, Courtney, and Cassidy. Pastor Thurman enjoys hanging out with his family, digging into the Scriptures, playing tennis, and reading. His passion in ministry is to preach the Bible in a fresh, expository way. His favorite pastors and authors are Charles Spurgeon, John Stott, John Piper, and Adrian Rodgers. He also has a passion for world missions, and serves as a Trustee of the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. He is also involved in state mission work through his service on the Executive Board of the Southern Baptist Conservatives of Virginia. Pastor Thurman has a Master of Divinity with Languages degree and a Doctor of Ministry degree, both from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. |
